What People's Say About Place

We stayed at a lodge near Starved Rock for the weekend and decided to run off campus for some good food and boy did we find it. They have a great menu with a ton of unique items and variety. Their salsa and guacamole was super fresh and delicious. Our toddler was devouring both with a spoon.. I ordered the arroz con pollo with corn tortilla (which held up without breakage!!!) and my husband ordered the pollo Yucatan. Both were so good and came out piping hot. Oh like the chips! Warmed chips? Yes please. They also have house made hot sauce which was incredibly flavorful and perfectly spicy. Bright lighting is my only knock but we'll definitely come back when we're in town.

Went there on a Friday evening without any expectation. The dining room was almost full as there was a Birthday party happening. We were quickly given a table. The food was pretty good and they use ipads for their menus but the servers still use notepad. Tacos 7.5/10 Chillaquilles 7/10 Will certainly visit again.

GREAT MEXICAN FOOD IN THE MIDWEST! Plenty of parking outside The interior dining space is very welcoming, we called ahead for a larger party reservation Were greeted promptly upon entry with a friendly smile from staff The queso dip and salsa were very very good, kids loved the queso, and the chips and salsa seemed to be on tap! The Al pastor tacos were very good and portioned well, the steak tacos were also very very delicious! The steak fajitas, were also very tasty! Banana split and churro Sunday for dessert did not disappoint! Also the mango margaritas were so I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating and drinking at habaneros!

Oh man, this place was absolutely amazing! My husband and I came here while we were in town near Starved Rock for our anniversary. I always love Mexican food and this place did not disappoint! This is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. We ordered for too much food because it all looked good and everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend you come here if you’re in town and I can’t wait to come back again.

My family is in town for a wedding and we stopped in for lunch. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food tasted great! We had an awesome experience!

We had great service, the chicken tacos were really good! I did mine flour tortillas with lettuce, cheese & sour cream, my husband did the corn tortilla with cilantro & onions. Our kids had the steak nachos & the steak tacos and both were good! I really liked the cheese dip, chips were alright but it really made them so much better that they came out hot. The margaritas were a little overpriced in my opinion but we enjoyed them, and they were strong. For dessert we did the churros with fried icecream, it was a hit!! I'd definitely stop here again if we're in the area!!

pretty well priced, tasty food, nice staff. great little spot close to starved rock, would come back again

This place is a hidden gem! The salsa’s were homemade very good. the steak was tender, and the pastor was well seasoned. Everything was priced for reasonable and they had plenty of drink specials. The service was amazing and the staff was really kind. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, but it was extremely clean and there was plenty of parking. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area.
